Are you a potter or want to be one? Stay with us at the Wilder Farm Inn and have access to our newly completed pottery studio/gallery, The Naked Potter. We have plenty of wheels, a slab roller, electric & raku kilns. So, why not take a break from your classroom or home studio and study with us? The studio is a salvaged 1840 post & beam that has been updated with modern conveniences and a very funky, cool style.
When: Anytime! You choose the length & course of study.
Includes: A great stay in our beautiful B&B, materials, firings, wheel instruction and a whole lot of fun. You choose what you want to learn....want to throw better? Fire a raku kiln? Learn about naked raku? Maybe you just need a place to experiment. You can do it here. Where else can you take time out from a hot firing & go jump in the cool, clean Mad River.
Rates vary depending upon course of study. Contact us for more info.
Your mother always told you not to play with fire… What did she know?
Experience the excitement of Raku. This Japanese quick-fire pottery technique will captivate your spirit and bring out the creativity in you. Glaze a hand-thrown pot and let us fire it to a red hot 1500 degrees, pull it out of the kiln and into the reduction can. Watch the flames, smell the smoke and in a few minutes see your creations. Come play with fire.
Fee: $35/pot
